MAIACA is an acronym for Miami Association of Indians for Art and Culture. In Hindi, "maiaca" means "mother's house," symbolizing a place where one is nurtured and cared for. This name reflects our organization’s goal: to create a welcoming space where Asian Indian-Americans feel at home and supported, fostering a sense of belonging and cultural connection.
MAIACA's mission is to bring visibility and appreciation to all forms of Indian art and culture within the local South Florida community. We aim to promote and preserve the rich heritage of India through diverse artistic expressions. By organizing Indian art exhibitions at local museums, cultural performances of Indian and Western dances, eclectic musical events, and discussions on modern Indian art, culture and its global influence, MAIACA strives to create a platform for artists to showcase their talents and engage with art enthusiasts.
At MAIACA, we are dedicated to celebrating Indian art and culture in Florida. Our vision is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of India's artistic heritage, creating a welcoming space where artists and audiences can connect. We seek to explore the vibrant world of Indian art and culture, building a culturally enriched community through collaboration, education, and artistic excellence. Join us in our journey to explore and celebrate the dynamic and diverse realm of Indian art and culture.
